Creative Canvases Fundraising Event at Viroqua High School

Viroqua, WI - Viroqua high school and middle school students have been busy this month making art for a Viroqua High School Art Club fundraiser called Creative Canvases.  Art students in seventh through 12th grade were asked to create an artwork on an 8-inch by 10-inch canvas to fit the theme, “Love of Nature.” For example, students could make artwork about animals, insects, plants, the changing seasons or the landscape of the Driftless Area. The choice of media was open, but oil paint was not allowed because of a longer drying time.  Unconventional materials and methods, such as oil pastel, collage and sewing, were also encouraged.  www.fundraising-ideas.org
